This Content & Use Policy explains what content and activity are prohibited when you use Invena, and how we may respond to abuse.

This policy works together with our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service. Capitalised terms used but not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.

1. Purpose

Invena helps households organise important information and share selected content with people they trust. Because users may upload documents, store personal data, and invite others into Spaces, we need clear rules about prohibited content and harmful activity.

This policy applies to all User Content and activity on the Service, whether stored privately or shared within a Space.

2. Prohibited content and activity

You must not store, upload, share, or use the Service in connection with any of the following.

2.1 Illegal activity

Content or activity that is illegal, or that promotes, facilitates, or instructs others to engage in illegal activity.

You must comply with laws that apply to your use of the Service, including laws relating to consent, recording, and sharing personal data about others.

2.2 Exploitation and harm

Child sexual exploitation or abuse material. This is strictly prohibited.

Content that exploits or sexualises minors.

Content that promotes self-harm, terrorism, or credible threats of violence against people.

Where we become aware of apparent child sexual exploitation or abuse material, we may report it to the appropriate authorities and take any other action required or permitted by law.

2.3 Graphic, harmful, or hateful content

Content that is gratuitously violent, obscene, or primarily intended to harass or degrade others based on protected characteristics.

Invena is not a public content platform. Spaces are private sharing environments. This rule still applies to material you upload or share, including within invited Spaces.

2.4 Harassment, bullying, and threats

Abusive, harassing, bullying, defamatory, or threatening behaviour directed at any person through the Service or using information obtained from the Service.

2.5 Malware and deceptive practices

Malware, viruses, harmful code, or activity intended to deceive, defraud, or mislead others, including phishing or impersonation using Invena invitations or branding.

2.6 Privacy violations

Content or activity that unlawfully invades another person's privacy or shares personal data about others without authority or a lawful basis.

Before uploading information about family members, carers, or third parties, ensure you are entitled to store and share it.

2.7 Intellectual property infringement

Content that infringes copyright, trade marks, or other intellectual property rights of others, except where you have permission or another lawful basis.

Membership / loyalty branding. Merchant names may be stored for identification. Do not upload official merchant logos or recreate official card artwork to imply affiliation or endorsement, unless you have a lawful basis. Rights-holder complaints about branding or catalogue assets follow our Copyright and brand notice policy.

2.8 Spam and unwanted contact

Using the Service to send bulk unsolicited messages, commercial spam, or automated invitations unrelated to genuine household continuity or trusted sharing.

3. Sensitive and high-risk content

Invena is designed for household continuity, for example insurance documents, care instructions, and emergency contacts. Such content may be sensitive, but it is permitted where:

you have authority to store it;
you share it only with people you trust; and
you use appropriate Space roles and invitations.

You must not use Invena as a general-purpose file locker for unrelated high-risk or abusive use cases. We may restrict or suspend use that creates disproportionate risk to the Service, other users, or our legal and security obligations.

4. Uploads, scanning, and safety

When you upload files, we may apply technical controls including:

file type and size limits;
malware scanning, where enabled; and
abuse monitoring at the infrastructure level.

Scanning and limits are designed to protect users and the Service. They are not a guarantee that all harmful content will be detected. You remain responsible for what you upload.

We do not currently operate a human moderation team reviewing all uploads. We may review content when investigating abuse reports or security incidents.

5. Sharing and invitations

When you share a Space or send an invitation:

you confirm you have authority to share the content included and the right to contact the invitee;
you choose roles, such as owner, editor, or viewer, appropriate to trust and need;
you understand that invitees who accept may be able to view or copy shared content subject to their role; and
you enter email addresses carefully — a mistaken address may expose invitation metadata to the wrong person.

Invena sends invitation emails as transactional messages on your instructions. Do not use invitations for unsolicited marketing, spam, or mass outreach. Do not import or use contact details you are not entitled to use.

You may invite trusted people to help you manage your own Space. You must not use the Service as a company workspace, to provision access for multiple employees as if it were an organisation product, or to operate seat-like administration for a business, unless we have agreed a business plan with you in writing.

Do not share credentials or bypass role controls to expose content more widely than intended.

6. Automated and AI-assisted features

The beta Service may offer document extraction previews and may introduce AI-assisted features in future.

When AI features are available, additional rules will apply, including:

AI supports your judgment; it does not replace it;
previews are for review before records are created or changed; and
you must not use AI features for high-risk, unlawful, or deceptive purposes.

7. Monitoring and enforcement

We are not obligated to monitor all User Content. We may investigate suspected violations and take action we reasonably believe is necessary, including:

removing or restricting content;
disabling sharing or invitations;
suspending or terminating accounts; and
cooperating with law enforcement where required or appropriate.

We may preserve and disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect users and the Service.
